Pine Ridge Panthers Basketball hosted East River at home on Dec. 8, 2021. The Panthers, led by senior guard Elijah Zuniga (#0), defended their home turf well from the start, and were up 30-9 at the half.

Look out lady ballers, the Sandcrabs have a faster lineup that will be blistering the courts this season. After a loss to the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind on Tuesday, Nov. 16, senior Ocean Summers led the charge against the Panthers the following Friday with 16 points resulting in a 45-28 win for Seabreeze on the Pine Ridge High School courts in Deltona.

Pine Ridge Panthers Girls Basketball hosted the Seabreeze Sandcrabs at home on November 19, 2021. The first half was close, with the teams tied at six at the end of the first quarter. The Sandcrabs began to take over in the second quarter, and were up 19-14 at the half.

The Panthers prowled their way into 5A District 4 champions as they defeated the Buccaneers in 5 sets, winning 25-23, 25-23, 20-25, 22-25, and 15-12 respectively. Leading the overall offensive scoring for the Panthers as well as the Buccaneers, Freshman middle hitter Megan Lee shined for Pine Ridge with 29 kills, and Mainland’s senior hitter Alexa Wilson contributed an impressive 22 kills of her own to the match. The Panthers’ budding freshman Megan Lee was also a defensive weapon putting up 4 solo blocks as well as 3 block assists in their championship win.

The Pirates sailed into the Panther’s Den to face off a tough Pine Ridge squad, but ultimately met stormy seas and fell to the Panthers in three sets. The first set saw skillful network by freshman middle hitters Megan Lee and BellaRae Brockhaus from Pine ridge as they dropped a flurry of tips on the Matanzas side. Second set opened with a pair of aces from Pine Ridge’s sophomore setter Lauren Powell who combined with Megan Lee for 10 aces on the evening.
