Seabreeze Boys Basketball hosted Deltona at home for their first game of 2022 on Jan. 4. The Deltona Wolves came out strong, leading 32-22 at the half.

The Wolves took to the road to face a pink Pirate squad in a game that came down to a battle of the serves for the win. Deltona opened the first set with strong serves and back-to-back kills from senior outside hitter Ja'Maya Diaz as they edged out Matanzas 25-23 to begin the match.
Senior middle hitter Ashley Grove began the second set for the Pirates with tough serves and paired her serving with a strong arm to bring the match even 1-1 and begin the Matanzas comeback.

Week 2 of the 2021 High school football season kicks off around the state tonight(yes, Thursday night football!) with two area teams in action.
New Smyrna Beach will open its difficult district schedule with Jones at home, while Deltona hits the road for Mount Dora.
Originally, four area teams were set to play tonight, but the University-DeLand game was cancelled three hours prior to kickoff due to COVID issues.
