St. Johns Country Day is getting set to take on the nation's best on the baseball diamond.

The Clay County school is among 16 teams from around the nation selected for the USA Baseball National High School Invitational, scheduled from April 6-9 in Cary, N.C. The traditional showcase event is returning after a hiatus of two years because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Spartans will join three other Florida schools in Fort Myers Bishop Verot, Orlando First Academy, Parkland Marjory Stoneman Douglas, as well as a dozen nationwide contenders with highly-rated prospects.
