The Panthers downed the Hawks in a wild finish that was determined by a field goal in the last 15 seconds of play. Spruce Creek's big interception in the first quarter gave them an early 7-0 lead over Nease. The Panthers responded by scoring 21 unanswered points in the second and third quarters.

With a comfortable 21-7 Panther lead in the fourth, the momentum was suddenly shifted by the Hawks’ scoring a touchdown with 4:28 left in the game. Nease’s special teams blocked the PAT, holding the Hawks with the score 21-13. On the following sequence, Spruce Creek made their second interception and marched down for another touchdown. With the Hawks making good on a 2-point conversion, the game was now tied 21-21 with 2:39 left on the clock.

The Panthers worked the clock down in their favor and scored a field goal with 15 seconds left to go up 24-21. The Hawks executed a beautiful lateral pass play bringing them to the 20-yard line and into field goal range with 5 seconds left in play. The Panthers special teams came up big again, blocking the field goal and ensuring the Panthers a berth into the next round of the FHSAA District 7A Playoffs to meet up with Niceville on November 19th.
