One of Central Florida's most lethal softball sluggers will pursue her college dreams out of state next year.

University senior shortstop Aminah Vega signed her national letter of intent Wednesday to play at Duke University. The News-Journal's 2021 Softball Player of the Year posted a staggering .609 batting average with 13 home runs, four triples, five doubles, 51 runs scored, 30 RBIs, 38 walks and 29 stolen bases in 104 plate appearances.

More importantly, she helped the Titans capture their first regional title in program history to go along with a 25-1 record — the lone loss coming to Park Vista in a Class 7A state semifinal.
