FORT MYERS – The Bolles baseball team fell just one run short of snapping Orlando First Academy’s 20-game winning streak and a berth in the Class 3A state championship game.

The Royals scored two runs in the second inning of their state semifinal game, and they held up after Isaac Sewell pitched a four-hitter as First Academy beat Bolles 2-1 Monday morning at Hammond Stadium in Southwest Florida.

The Royals (30-1) now meet Miami Westminster Academy in the 3A title game at 4 p.m. Tuesday here.

Bolles pitcher Jackson Baumeister allowed only six hits while striking out 10. But the Royals' penchant for the big hit propelled them to the title game. Isaac Sewell struck out seven and walked only two.
