Ponte Vedra (11-3-5) advances to face Gulf Breeze at 7 p.m. Tuesday for a spot in the Final Four. Underclassman-heavy Seabreeze finishes the year with a record of 9-4-2.
"We just wanted to come out and play as hard as we could for the last 20 minutes and put everything on the field," Parkes said.
The Sharks had significant advantages in possession and shot attempts, but Seabreeze had at least three chances in the final 11 minutes of regulation to pull off the upset.
Emily Myers nearly provided a stunning strike from more than 30 yards away, but Sharks freshman keeper Audrey Johnson leaped into the air and punched it over the crossbar with her right hand. On the ensuing corner kick, Johnson fought off a redirected attempt on target.
